Nigel Laughton will be joining Bath Rugby as Rugby Operations Director from the beginning of August.
Nigel brings with him a wealth of experience from the England Cricket Board's (ECB) National Cricket Academy in Loughbrough where he was the Academy Manager.
His role at the club involves the strategic operations plan for Bath Rugby Training Facilities (for pre-season), managing rugby budgets; managing the coaching, sports science, medical staff and support staff training with their personnel development
He will also be employed to promote and direct development of players (through squad, team, specialist group and individual training programmes) to help them to fulfill their potential.
Although Nigel does not come from a rugby background his skills are transferable to the rugby environment. He will not get involved with the coaching side of operations at Bath Rugby.
Nigel has a military background and was trained at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. He served with the Black Watch for nine years and then served with the Army Air Corps as a helicopter pilot
