Easy win for England 7s

England kept alive their hopes of progressing from Pool B at the Rugby World Cup Sevens when beating Chinese Taipei 41-0 in Hong Kong this morning.

Two tries from Richard Haughton and a breakaway score by Ben Gollings gave England a 15-0 lead at the interval and second-half tries to Henry Paul, Rob Thirlby, Ugo Monye and Neil Starling sealed the win.

However, having lost to France on day one, Simon Amor's side must still beat Samoa in their final group game to go through.

Ireland secured their first win in Pool A when beating Korea 24-17, Andrew Maxwell bagging a brace of tries and being supported by scores from David Hewitt and Ian Humphreys.

Scotland qualified for the cup competition with a 12-7 win over Tonga. The victory takes the Scots to four wins from four in the pool matches with one game to go against New Zealand.

The winner of the All Blacks clash will decide who will face the runners-up from England's group.

Mark Lee opened the scoring against the Tongans following a clever piece of recycling.

Lee was also instrumental in Scotland's second try, feeding winger Andrew Turnbull for his seventh try of the tournament.

Tonga staged a fightback in the second half with Kiniconi Bakewa touching down under the post but time ran out on the islanders.
