Leicester director of rugby Dean Richards was relieved to leave France with the points after a hard-earned 24-12 Heineken Cup win over Beziers.
The Tigers came out on top thanks to second-half tries from centre Ollie Smith and winger Leon Lloyd and are now in the driving seat in the push for a place in the quarter-finals.
"Beziers are a good side - not many teams walk away from here with a victory," said Richards.
"We wanted to play a fast game because we knew they would try to slow things up.
"We found it difficult to play rugby at times because Beziers were very strong in the set-pieces and we got a hard time in the scrum.
"The players performed well. Last week's loss to Northampton was more my fault - I got the selection wrong. I'm pleased with the performance today."
Beziers captain and man of the match Pierre Mignoni said: "We're obviously disappointed. We weren't far from getting something out the game, but Leicester have shown us again what a great team they are.
"It was tough out there, but it's good to play these type of games because Leicester are the reference point for European rugby. We can still finish second in the pool and get through.
"We're keen to go to Leicester next week and show even more determination than we did today."
