West Indies XI 130 for 7 (Deonarine 40, Cheema 3-19) beat Canada 81 (Bagai 32, Deonarine 4-14) by 49 runs
          Scorecard

Narsingh Deonarine's all-round effort helped West Indies XI crush Canada at the Trelawny Stadium in Jamaica. First, he slapped a 23-ball 40 to boost the target and then ran through Canada's batting, finishing with four wickets.

Opener Andre Fletcher was the only other West Indian batsman to cross 20, making a patient 32. Left-arm medium-pacer Umar Bhatti took a couple of early wickets to peg back the home side, before Rizwan Cheema snapped two more to leave West Indies at 70 for 4. Deonarine though slammed two sixes and two fours to ensure Canada faced a competitive target.

Canada's chase got off to a terrible start, losing Cheema off the first ball. In the next over, Hiral Patel was bowled by Ravi Rampaul. Captain and wicketkeeper, Ashish Bagai (32), and opener, Trevin Bastiampillai (24), offered some resistance but the final six Canadian batsmen made single-digit scores as their side collapsed from 64 for 3 to 72 for 9.

Darren Sammy, the home side's captain, was thrilled with his team's bowling. "We did what we had to do, it's a good victory for us," he said. "The bowlers defended the total excellently and I think the batsmen did well even though we didn't get the runs that we wanted to get."
