Brenko Lee's State of Origin debut for Queensland looks in jeopardy after the centre limped out of the Maroons' final training session on Tuesday.
Maroons coach Wayne Bennett has confirmed he'll take an extra player to Adelaide as cover for Lee for Wednesday's series opener, expected to be Hymel Hunt.
Lee limped out of Queensland's captain's run on the Gold Coast with Bennett confirming he's battling a calf niggle.
Bennett also confirmed Penrith's Kurt Capewell will debut for the Maroons despite a groin niggle, with Gold Coast's Phillip Sami to drop out of the team.
Bennett said both Lee and Capewell are expected to play but the Maroons will travel with an extra player as cover.
Winger Xavier Coates completed the training session and will debut after overcoming a shoulder sprain suffered on Sunday.
The Maroons fly to Adelaide on Wednesday before returning to Queensland after the match.
