This is all we have for you from this match! Thank you for your company. We hope you enjoyed our coverage as much as we did bringing it to you. Goodbye, from me Rvel Zahid, and do follow the last league game of the PSL, starting in about 20 minutes
Marnus Labuschagne, Hyderabad Kingsmen Captain: Firstly, to lose the toss there; I was actually very confident at the toss, as I said, because I thought if we could do what we did in the first innings, that was the best way to win the game. And for the boys to step up--you know, Glenn had a quiet tournament and then to find that innings. And KP and Usman Khan and then Hassan Khan to finish it off there...for us to get 244 there, it really kept us in the game. We really thought we had a chance. We thought the wicket needed maybe a little bit of double pace there. And then, you know, it was just about holding our nerves. We know how those games go; you're up, you're down. They get a few boundaries, you feel like the dream's over. You get a few wickets, the boys are too high so just trying to keep everything calm. And to be able to finish it off there was really special
Hunain Shah, Player of the Match: Everyone was working really hard and had the conviction to win. We had everything mapped out and knew how many wickets we needed, runs and boundaries. We just kept things simple--that we would hit the top of off-stump and we wouldn't go for wickets; they would come on their own. We put in the effort and the focus was to help the team win
Mohammad Rizwan, Rawalpindiz Captain: Sad how we lost. We were already out and I think luck favoured them and they deserved to be in the playoffs. It looked like a batting pitch, and for us, our match was important, not how the outcome affects others. We will feel bad for Lahore but we couldn't do anything
Have you been entertained? Lots to unpack! One team was on a mission and didn't have a tinge of self-doubt; their self-efficacy was evident right from the moment they stepped out onto the field. Putting up 244 on the board gave them a tremendous opportunity to make it to the playoffs and displace the Lahore Qalandars from fourth position. They bowled out Rawalpindi, a side that has had a forgettable debut season. Kingmen bowlers kept them in the game but Rawalpindi's approach was not questionable; they were going after a win and, in the process, handed a big gift to Hyderabad. There were no partnerships to speak of; just Khawaja holding the innings together with an unbeaten 66. Hyderabad's NRR is now -0.36, while Lahore's finish at -0.48 so you can imagine how tight it's in the endand what a nerve-wracking contest it was. More teams have certainly made the PSL more fun
Aiyan Shafqat M: "Hyderabad shows pure intent for playoffs. The way they lift themselves when the big man Maxwell comes into the team. This team then become unstoppable.. They have to win this trophy. But I believe pz are ahead as fas as the batting department concerned. "
Safeer: "What a comeback story! Amazing from HHK"
Ali: "Congrats HHK, what a story! But if they wanna leave an impact in the Playoffs, they need to rest Saim and play Sharjeel instead and who knows they might make it to final and lift the trophy!"
