Commentator: Rvel Zahid

Thank you for your company. You may now move to the other tab and follow the second match of the double-header. I would head out and see you later. On behalf of our team at ESPNcricinfo, this is Rvel Zahid signing off

David Warner, Karachi Kings Captain and Player of the Match: Look, we set the tone with taking early wickets at the start of the powerplay but it just got away from us a little bit. Those two batted well and put on a good partnership. But to bring it back to 196, I felt, was a very chaseable total. It was about going out there, trying to execute, and building a good partnership. Look, I think you've just got to go out there and play the basics. I thought with the new ball on that wicket, one could have your name on it. We had a little bit of luck; a good start for me and Jason. But to play it out that way and win comprehensively was great, and now we have to wait with anticipation. (on the cheer squad over there) Hopefully they can do a dance or something and make a little bit of a roar.

Saud Shakeel, Quetta Gladiators Captain: We couldn't get back-to-back wins and didn't click right from the start. We tried our best, but sometimes things don't go in your favour. Last time we played the final but weren't up to the mark this time, but you have to accept it. We thought we were 10 runs short but were happy with the total, thought the pitch played well in the second innings, but overall we didn't play well in the entire tournament.

Saw some urgency from Warner and Hendricks towards the end, both giving their team the best chance to boost their NRR. They paced the chase perfectly, with Warner bringing his A-game forward and no one could breach his defence. With slightly cooler conditions for Karachi to bat in, they never really looked in trouble. Roy contributed 15 and then two explosive players showed tremendous audacity, taking severe toll on all bowlers. That 141-run partnership off 79 balls effectively sealed the game. Karachi will hope that Lahore and Hyderabad lose; even if they don't, the big win today will still help their NRR and chances. Quetta posted a decent total but slowed down at the death, even though Rossouw and Saud were going all guns blazing. With Karachi's shabby fielding, they should have gotten at least 20 more. But given how Warner responded, even an excess of 20-30 runs might not have made a difference. Karachi move up to fourth with 10 points and a +0.87 NRR while Quetta sit on 6 points with a -0.41 NRR, with their exit from the tournament now confirmed.

Jahandad Khan to Hendricks, FOUR, Goes down the ground and splits the field! On a slightly fuller length and shaped across off, keeps a firm base and lofted it powerfully into the gap at cover. Karachi Kings ace the chase, win by 9 wickets, thanks to the mammoth partnership between these two and the entire dressing room, teammates, owners are absolutely elated, they are alive in the tournament!
