12:52am That will be all from us for tonight. We hope you enjoyed our coverage just as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. We will do it all over again tomorrow and would love your company again. Until then, from all of us here at ESPNcricinfo, it is goodbye!

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Player of the Match: I had something in my mind because it was only a three-over powerplay, so was thinking who I could take on. DC (Deepak Chahar) bhai was bowling, so I thought I could take him (on). Then Bumrah bhai was going to bowl, so I was thinking Vaibhav can take him and then I can take (on) someone else. It is not easy (playing all formats). Trying my best every single time. Making sure I develop different shots and what shots to use on which wicket. Helps when I prepare well. I am just trying to understand the situation and thinking what I can do for the team. If I know this is required, and these shots are required, I will go for it. (Conversations with Vaibhav) The way he has been playing is tremendous. I also get motivated (looking at him). We have these discussions on how can we go and I keep giving him positive messages - to play freely. He is amazing and understands the game well and is capable of doing stuff himself.

Riyan Parag, RR captain: Feels great. I have always known this to be a strong team because we have a strong and young core. Hopefully we can keep on performing like this. (On new ball bowlers) Jofra's messaging is to go out and bowl as fast as they can. Someone (like him and Burger) who bowls more than 140-145 and has control is crazy. (On where their opening partnership stands in his eyes) Number one. They have got age on their side. Vaibhav is incredible. It is not one-way slogging. Jaiswal has been doing it for 3-4 years now. The skill they have plus their maturity - they are the best going around.

Hardik Pandya, MI captain: (Powerplay bowling) We did not execute the deliveries we were supposed to. They (RR openers) played well. Bowlers need to take responsibility. As a bowling group, we were not up to the mark. They (RR openers) also played tremendously. (On the batting) I would not put this game on the batting. Definitely the bowling unit which had to take responsibility. It is always about bowling those good balls. If we would have executed, we would have been in the game. Their openers threw us off our game and we were playing catch-up. (On Sooryavanshi) Quite fascinating to see a 17- or 16-year-old boy (15-year-old) play that way. Amazing to see the way he bats, the fearlessness he has. Wish him good luck for the future. (On their next game) Just learn from the mistakes. Morning will come tomorrow, sun will rise, prepare well for the next game.

Ravi Bishnoi: The lengths have been different (from last season to this). Cricket has become a batter's game. Everything is against the bowler. So we try to keep trying things to make it difficult for them. As a captain, Riyan is there. We are all in the same age group and we are gelling well. We are able to understand each other. Everything is going well so far. We hope to continue this. If you can execute as a bowler or a batter, game can get easy at times too.

12:29am A fairly comfortable win for the Royals in the end. They put up a mountain of runs on the board, and their bowlers followed through on it promptly, denting MI in the powerplay. Archer was excellent in his opening over, with Burger also doing his bit. Sandeep was the standout, though, and it was his over (which saw him remove Rohit) that truly tilted the scales RR's way.

MI may not want to read too much into this game, owing to its shortened nature. But they might be worried about the form of some of their batting stars, not to mention their bowling efforts. They now have a few days to recalibrate before returning to action on Sunday.

1
Archer to Chahar, 1 run, on the bounce to Hetmyer, but it does not matter in the grand scheme. RR win and they win at a canter! Slower short ball outside off. Chahar swishes at it and slices it towards sweeper cover. RR go 3-0 and MI, after beginning their campaign with a win, have now been subjected to successive defeats!
10.5
1
Archer to Bumrah, 1 run, slower bumper outside off. Bumrah loads up and heaves it between long on and deep mid wicket. Back for a brace
10.4
4
Archer to Bumrah, FOUR, Bumrah with a boundary too! Banged in short and wide. Bumrah reaches out for it and uses the pace to glide it over backward point!
10.3
1
Archer to Chahar, 1 run, very full on middle and off. Chahar cannot do much with it and powers it down the ground to long on
10.2
0
Archer to Chahar, no run, slower ball on a back of a length on middle and leg. Chahar has a mow across the line and only swats away a few flies in the process

Bumrah is the final man in. Chahar on strike

Archer to Boult, OUT, Boult has been run out! Sizzling yorker on middle and leg. Boult squeezes it out towards the bowler. Chahar calls him through for the single but there was very little chance Boult would make it. Archer fields it on his follow-through, takes aim and throws down the stumps at his end!

TA Boult run out 1 (3m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50

Archer to bowl the final over. MI need six sixes to win it. Or five sixes and a four to tie it. And RR have incurred a slow over-rate penalty too. Just four outside the circle allowed now
