That is that for tonight. Hope you had a great weekend. Do tune in tomorrow as well. Until then, this is Deivarayan Muthu signing off early on the behalf of Chandan Duorah.
Aaron, Man of the Match: It really came together today. I was bowling well in patches before. We have been planning to get wickets early. That happened today. The body has been good after surgery. I tried to bowl faster and it came out well.
Kohli: He [Gayle] is pretty cool on the outside but pretty intense on the inside. I am more expressive, so that balances it out and that's why we open. I think we have the right combination now. We wanted to give Varun a chance. He steamed in and got wickets. This is the most balanced combination we are playing. Starc and Aaron is not a bad combination but you need an experienced guy. The way Mitch picks up wickets with his swinging yorkers, it is morale boosting. The last game we had a timely win. Momentum is hard to get. When you get it you shouldn't lose it.
Duminy: We were outplayed in every department. Lot of lessons to be learnt out of the game. They took wickets at regular intervals and we could not build a partnership. We have a few days off and we need to regroup and pick it up again.
10:40pm Kohli pumps his fist and there comes his typical celebratory jive with Gayle. Yuvraj congratulates Gayle. Thumping win for Royal Challengers. After Starc and Aaron routed Daredevils for 95, Gayle and Kohli got RCB off to a breezy start and wolfed down the slim target with 57 balls to spare.
Varad: "All bowlers from RCB had economy rate below 6 except one but all bowlers of DD have economy rate above 6 except one...!!!"
Ashish: "Just realised that Kohli's strike rate is same as Gayle's...!!!"
