Player of the Match
Player of the Match

Thank you for following the coverage. It's goodbye for now from myself, Rvel Zahid, Andrew McGlashan and Harshit Gowda

Arafat Minhas, Player of the Match: In the mid-innings interview, I said there is indeed pressure, but I had confidence from the PSL. I like to enjoy that pressure environment, and my focus was on enjoying this opportunity. I was able to control myself. Basics are very important regardless of the conditions. We prepared well for the series with the camp in Lahore, and it made the difference. (On his father watching him from the sidelines) Indeed, he must be feeling very proud, as it was his dream to see me play for Pakistan, and I am sure he enjoyed my performance today

Josh Inglis, Australia Captain: I thought we made a really good fist of it in that second innings. I thought we made them work really hard to get over the line. As you said, I think 30 or 40 more runs would have made things really interesting. Yeah, that's it. I thought Tanveer and Matthew were outstanding in that second innings, the way they bowled. I thought they changed their pace beautifully, changed their fields, and really made the batters work hard for their runs. Yeah, we've had a lot of information from Marnus so far this tour, so the less of that, the better, I think. But we're looking forward to it. It should be a very good wicket down there (in Lahore).

Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan Captain: Our plan was to bowl first. The ball comes nicely onto the bat and we knew there would be a lot of assistance for the spinners, and the spinners delivered. I am very happy for Arafat Minhas. I saw his father was so elated for him; it made me remember my own debut and it was great to see him perform. Saad Ghori did well against Bangladesh. He is a great player against both spin and pace, so the future of Pakistan looks bright

Pakistan waltz to a clinical win over Australia. Apart from a slightly lukewarm performance from the Pakistan speedsters, the spinners were right on top of their game, especially the young sensation Arafat Minhas, who got rid of the jitters quickly and settled into his groove in no time. He picked up wickets at regular intervals and looked so calm and composed with his craftsmanship, as if he had been playing international cricket for a decade or so. He deceived the batters with his guile, variations, and accuracy, led the bowling attack brilliantly with his wicket-to-wicket stuff, and was the go-to wicket-taker today. Apart from Matthew Short and Matt Renshaw's half-centuries, nobody really got going for Australia, who were at least 50 runs short of a fighting total. In reply, Shahibzada Farhan hung around for his 28 before the partnership between Babar Azam and Ghazi Ghori put any thoughts of a collapse to bed. Arafat Minhas then put the cherry on top with his unbeaten 18-run knock and will be adjudged the Player of the Match. Australia simply didn't have enough runs to make a game of it. Matthew Kuhnemann was exceptional, returning figures of 1 for 29, while Tanveer Sangha created his fair share of problems with his leg-spin. Pakistan will be encouraged by the way their youngsters have stepped up and taken responsibility

Anees: "I would say, a very controlled innings from both of the batters. No matter how slow they were, they just played according to the conditions and saved a big collapse against quality aus spinners. "

Labuschagne to Arafat Minhas, SIX, Picked up and dispatched into the crowd, mows it downtown into the V and fittingly, the debutant, from Pakistan, Arafat Minhas will never forget this game; picked a fifer and then topped it up with a lovely cameo and shows his all-round skills, towering six down the ground seals the deal! Pakistan win it comprehensively by five wickets and lead the three-match series by 1-0

Labuschagne to Salman Agha, OUT, Over the wicket, tosses it up fuller on middle, spins away a touch and he is early through the sweep, it's plumb lbw and he rightly doesn't send it upstairs. Excellent wicket-to-wicket stuff, Australia would rue the batting collapse earlier, could have taken the game right down to the wire with like 50 more runs perhaps
