On that note, Karthik and I, Danyal, sign off. It's been a pleasure bringing this game to you, one that ended up being quite close. Stick around for KK's report, but that's all from us. Congratulations to India, and commiserations to Pakistan! See you all again very soon.

Ruchit: "India simply played superior cricket as a team. Pakistan has 4 may be good contributions . India had 7 good contributions."

Yahya: "Spare a thought for Nawaz - he kept Pak alive until the 19/20th over and made the match watch worthy for fans." There are no handshakes as India peel off to celebrate with their fans, while Pakistan will have to be content with silver.

W
Dube to Hasan Nawaz, OUT, strikes off the final ball! India win the gold medal! Slower bouncer sees Nawaz nick off, and India defend what they won in Hangzhou. They were always ahead in the game, even if Pakistan gave them a few nervier moments than India expected. But they were the better side, and always the side that was ahead in this game. And they are ahead as the game draws to a close. India clinch their seventh consecutive T20I win over Pakistan, and India's men do what their women did earlier, win a gold medal in the cricket.

Dube to Hasan Nawaz, 2 runs, goes up in the air, but falls in a gap, and Hasan Nawaz comes back for a second. He needs four to get to three figures
19.4
6
Dube to Hasan Nawaz, SIX, slot ball, smeared over cow corner for six. Pakistan will not get the gold, but he's six runs away from a century
19.3
0
Dube to Hasan Nawaz, no run, slapped straight down the ground, and Hasan doesn't run for that one
19.2
0
Dube to Hasan Nawaz, no run, very good yorker, and Nawaz cannot get underneath it. That should seal the gold for India, and the crowd knows it. Loud cheers erupting in the stands

Hanzaq: "Both teams were neck and neck after 17 overs....pull up the scores....it was the last 3 overs that was the difference...Pakistan bowled bad and India capitalised...India have bowled tight and Pakistan have been cramped"

19.2
1w
Dube to Hasan Nawaz, 1 wide, sends it too wide and Nawaz lets it go
19.1
4
Dube to Hasan Nawaz, FOUR, short ball that Nawaz picks up and deposits over fine leg for four. Even that sends the rate rocketing upwards, nearly to 36

Dube to bowl the final over

END OF OVER:

Bumrah to Hasan Nawaz, 1 run, pitch perfect yorker, and he squirts it down to long-on somehow, and keeps the strike. Bumrah has done his job though. Pakistan need 33 off the last 6
18.5
0
Bumrah to Hasan Nawaz, no run, took the pace off that. It looked like it might have been in the slot, but Nawaz's hoick finds fresh air

Asad: "Well at the end it seems the difference is obvious, India had 3 batsmen making significant contributions while Pakistan only has one."

18.4
1b
Bumrah to Saad Masood, 1 bye, slower ball, fumble by Samson, and they come through for a single
18.3
6
Bumrah to Saad Masood, SIX, misses the yorker this time, and the low full toss is slogged straight back over the bowler's head. He hasn't middled it, but these boundaries are short, and it steals enough distance to get over the rope

Prasanna S: "Well done to both teams - This is more like the India Pak game a fan would hope for - A contest going till the 40th over."

18.2
1
Bumrah to Hasan Nawaz, 1 run, phenomenal yorker from Bumrah, who produces these on demand, seemingly. This time they can't come back for a second
18.1
2
Bumrah to Hasan Nawaz, 2 runs, squirts out the yorker through extra cover, and very sloppy keeping allows Pakistan an overthrow that keeps Nawaz on strike

6
Washington Sundar to Saad Masood, SIX, gets enough to smear that over long-on. It's still an excellent over for India, but Pakistan just won't let this contest go. 44 now needed in 2, one of which will be bowled by Bumrah
17.5
0
Washington Sundar to Saad Masood, no run, another one that cramps him for room, and he gets an underedge on it that goes nowhere
17.4
0
Washington Sundar to Saad Masood, no run, swing and a miss.
17.3
W
Washington Sundar to Abdul Samad, OUT, Sundar strikes. It was a lazy slog from Samad, not much footwork there. He was rushed by the quicker ball from the bowler, and his hack achieved more elevation than distance. It's a simple catch for long-on, and India can smell gold now

Abdul Samad c Tilak Varma b Washington Sundar 9 (16m 9b 1x4 0x6) SR: 100

17.2
1
Washington Sundar to Hasan Nawaz, 1 run, helps it behind square, but it's only a single. India will take that outcome

Faran: "India has scored 69 runs in the lasat 4 overs. Pakistan needed the same."

Sandy: ""Did Vaibhav dropped the Gold here for India.""

4
Dube to Abdul Samad, FOUR, up and over again! It was short and wide, and sat up, allowing Samad to pick it up and guide it over short third

Ashwini Kumar: "Far too many errors in the field by Indian team. Their intensity is missing."

1
Dube to Hasan Nawaz, 1 run, whips it down the ground, but can't get underneath it
