• Her first international medal came through a silver at the 2009 Asian junior wrestling championship, Manila in 59kg
* Shot to prominence in the seniors three years later by winning 63kg Gold at 2012 Asian Juniors in Almaty, Kazakhstan
• Silver in the 58 kg at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014, was her first major medal at a multi-discipline games.
• In the run up to Rio, won a bronze at the 2015 Doha Asian Championships in 60kgs
• She was a part of the victorious Mumbai Garuda team in the inaugural Pro Wrestling League. She won two of her three bouts in the competition held in December 2015.
• Qualified for the Rio Olympics by finishing with silver at the Istanbul qualifying tournament in May 2016, beaten in the final by Russian Valeria Koblova, whom she was to face in the Olympic quarter-finals in Rio. Sakshi was to lose to Koblova before repechage gave her a second chance - and a medal.
