FORT WORTH, Texas -- Even with a short field of only 121 players this week at Colonial Country Club and the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, a big ol' weather delay Friday morning made everyone a bit stir-crazy all around the golf course.
Stir-crazy is also the perfect way to describe this week's questions, and I mean that in the best way since it's one of my favorite movies of all time!
Congrats to this week's winners. Enjoy basking in the glory of all your friends and family knowing you're now on ESPN.com's golf page!
@ESPNCaddie The bombers always have the advantage at longer courses, but what are some courses where the ball strikers shine?#AskESPNCaddie
— Garry Scott (@Aroma_Bean) May 26, 2016
Collins: This week's Colonial CC is still a ball-strikers course, but a couple of others are Hilton Head's Harbour Town Golf Links and Riviera CC in Los Angeles. Those are the two most famous ball-strikers' courses still on the PGA Tour's schedule. I'd say there's six ball-striker courses on tour. I just gave you half of them.
@ESPNCaddie #AskESPNCaddie no one golfer can win every time out so why is media dumping on Speith?
— Gene Jones (@brzy1125) May 26, 2016
Collins: First, I never dumped on Jordan Spieth, and calling me media is offensive and hurtful! Just kidding (kinda) on that last part. Nowadays when a golfer like Spieth gets on a hot streak for a few months and looks unbeatable, people act surprised when he doesn't win. Look what people were saying about Jason Day until he won this year! That's a direct result of how spoiled we were by Tiger's winning percentage when he was at his peak.
@ESPNCaddie #askESPNCaddie How often should I get new @VokeyWedges for max spin and control? Fresh Grooves for my birthday!
— John Thai (@iJohnThai) May 26, 2016
@iJohnThai @ESPNCaddie Voke recommends replacing wedges every 60-70 rounds depending on practice and playing habits.
— VokeyWedges (@VokeyWedges) May 26, 2016
Collins: Ba-blam!! Ya never know who's reading these, huh?!
@ESPNCaddie @ESPNGolf #AskESPNCaddie Who would you take as your partner in best ball? Spieth, Day, or Mcilroy?
— Corey Matthey (@coreymatthey) May 26, 2016
Collins: Aw, man! Making me choose between friends kills me. If you force me to choose, I'll take Day first, Jordan second and Rory third. With Day, right now, I'd feel like there's no situation I could put the team in where we wouldn't have a chance to win. Also, he's the one who'd have the biggest intimidation factor when we stepped on the tee against whichever sorry knuckleheads were unlucky enough to draw us in the Screen Door Invitational!
@ESPNCaddie W growing # sponsors for caddies(@kentwool @JaniKingTowel etc)is there change in Tour thinking:lawsuit, treatment #AskESPNCaddie
— Breadchick (@Breadchick) May 26, 2016
Collins: No, and, ironically enough, when the caddies filed their appeal to the class action lawsuit, the tour canceled a meeting to talk with the caddies and representatives. (Information I got from someone scheduled to be at that meeting.) The biggest change is coming from the players, who are now becoming more outwardly supportive of the caddies. That might be a result of more caddies being close friends with their players or because of the professional nature caddying has acquired because of the money.
