Haas boss Guenther Steiner says the team is "as ready as you can be" for its first F1 race despite completing the fewest amount of laps in winter testing.
After a very encouraging first week, Haas was hit by a string of reliability issues in the second week and finished the eight days with 474 laps to its name ahead of the Australian Grand Prix on March 20. Despite the troubles of week two team principal Steiner is confident the team is prepared for the season opener.
Asked how ready the team feels heading to Melbourne, Steiner replied: "As ready as you can be! I don't know what is waiting behind the corner. For sure, in the end, we would have liked to run more [last] Monday and Tuesday but we could not. We can never make it up, we did the best we could the last two days. We are as ready as we can get at the moment.
"We had a few challenging days but that was to be expected with a new team. Two weeks ago we were not even a team so the guys did a fantastic job, worked very hard. I'm proud of them.
The issues in the final week were not restricted to one area, with a fuel sensor issue occurring before separate problems with the turbo and brake-by-wire systems.
Asked if solutions are in place for those problems, he said: "Yes, we are pretty sure about that. I can't say there are any other problems coming by Australia but at the moment these ones are at rest."
