Oklahoma Sooners vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Oklahoma erases 6-run deficit to force decider vs. Georgia Tech
Oklahoma erased a six-run deficit with a stunning eight-run fourth inning, powering past Georgia Tech 15-8 on Sunday at Mac Nease Baseball Park in Atlanta to force a winner-take-all game in the NCAA regional final.
The Sooners pounded out 18 hits, with Brendan Brock leading the charge by going 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs. Deiten Lachance provided the go-ahead hit in the fourth inning with a grand slam, finishing the day with four RBIs. The offensive onslaught began after Georgia Tech had built what seemed a comfortable 8-2 lead.
Oklahoma's rally in the fourth featured three home runs. Brock led off the frame with a solo shot, his second of the game. After a pair of RBI singles, Lachance launched his grand slam to right field to give the Sooners a 9-8 lead. Trey Gambill capped the inning with a solo homer. Jason Walk also had a big day, collecting three hits and three RBIs, while Kyle Branch drove in two runs on two hits.
After starter Cameron Johnson failed to record an out, the Oklahoma bullpen pieced the game together. LJ Mercurius was effective in relief, tossing four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out three to quell the Yellow Jackets' offense.
Georgia Tech jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run by Drew Burress. The Yellow Jackets then exploded for five runs in the third, highlighted by a two-run single from Ryan Zuckerman and a two-run homer by Alex Hernandez, to extend their lead to 7-2.
Up next: Oklahoma and Georgia Tech will meet in the final of the Atlanta Regional on Monday at 3 p.m. ET.
