West scores 22, Nicholls State knocks off SE Louisiana 80-54

HAMMOND, La. -- — Jamal West had 22 points in Nicholls State's 80-54 win over SE Louisiana on Thursday night.

West also added 11 rebounds for the Colonels (18-13, 13-5 Southland Conference). Robert Brown III scored 20 points while shooting 6 for 15, including 6 for 12 from beyond the arc. Byron Ireland had 10 points and shot 4 of 8 from the field, including 1 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 1 for 4 from the line.

Roger McFarlane led the Lions (15-16, 10-8) in scoring, finishing with 12 points and six rebounds. Avery Wilson added 10 points for SE Louisiana. Nick Caldwell also had nine points.
