SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- — Ajay Mitchell scored 22 points as UCSB beat Cal Poly 83-75 on Thursday.
Mitchell added seven assists for the Gauchos (15-12, 8-9 Big West Conference). Yohan Traore scored 19 points and added five rebounds. Ariel Bland finished 6 of 6 from the floor to finish with 12 points.
The Mustangs (4-25, 0-17) were led by Kobe Sanders, who recorded 31 points and two steals. Jarred Hyder added 13 points and seven rebounds for Cal Poly. In addition, Quentin Jones finished with 12 points. The Mustangs extended their losing streak to 17 straight.
Both teams play on Saturday. UCSB visits CSU Fullerton and Cal Poly hosts CSU Bakersfield.
