England blows his whistle for one final time, and it finishes all square at 1-1 between Leeds United and Manchester United. It was a full-blooded, feisty, and at times tetchy contest between two teams who don't like each other very much. For Carrick, it felt an important game not to lose, but he will be disappointed his side couldn't build on a positive first-half performance in which Mbeumo opened the scoring with a nice finish from Tielemans' excellent low cross. Leeds had much more luck in the second half, keeping their discipline more and using their physicality to cause the visitors plenty of issues. They got the equaliser early in the second half when Stach's corner was headed down by Muharemovic and coolly finished by Calvert-Lewin. A point feels about fair in a game that lacked quality at times, but certainly did not lack intensity. Leeds actually ended up with a higher xG of 1.44 to 0.91, but ultimately it finishes level.
