NORFOLK, Va. -- — Brian Moore Jr. had 22 points in Norfolk State's 81-59 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday night.
Moore also had seven rebounds, three steals, and four blocks for the Spartans (10-7, 1-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Chris Fields Jr. added 14 points while shooting 5 of 8 from the field and 3 for 7 from the line while they also had five rebounds. Jalen Myers shot 5 of 6 from the field and 1 for 3 from the line to finish with 12 points.
The Hawks (4-13, 0-1) were led by Chris Flippin, who posted 17 points and nine rebounds. Ketron Shaw added 10 points, nine rebounds and two blocks for Maryland-Eastern Shore. Cardell Bailey also had nine points and six rebounds.
These two teams both play Monday. Norfolk State visits Delaware State and Maryland-Eastern Shore hosts Howard.
