WASHINGTON -- — Gerald Drumgoole Jr. had 17 points in Delaware's 80-50 victory against Hampton on Saturday night in the Coastal Athletic Association Tournament.
No. 6 seed Delaware (19-13) will face No. 3 seed Hofstra in a quarterfinal on Sunday.
Drumgoole shot 5 of 7 from the field, including 3 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 6 from the line for the Fightin' Blue Hens. Cavan Reilly scored 14 points, shooting 5 for 8, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc. Jalun Trent shot 6 of 8 from the field to finish with 12 points, while adding seven rebounds.
Kyrese Mullen led the No. 14 seed Pirates (8-23, 1-1) in scoring, finishing with 17 points and nine rebounds. Hampton also got 13 points from Jerry Deng. Tedrick Wilcox Jr. finished with 10 points and two steals.
Drumgoole scored 14 points in the first half to help Delaware build a 51-16 halftime lead.
