Sharp's 35 points in ASUN Tournament quarterfinal helps Austin Peay beat North Florida 101-98 in OT
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- — Demarcus Sharp scored 35 points, Dezi Jones added seven in overtime and No. 4 seed Austin Peay beat fifth-seeded North Florida 101-98 on Tuesday night in an Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament quarterfinal.
Austin Peay (18-14) will play No. 6 seed North Alabama (15-16) in a Thursday quarterfinal.
Sharp added nine rebounds for the Governors. Jones scored 23 points while going 8 of 13 from the floor and 7 for 7 from the line to go with six rebounds. Isaac Haney finished with 16 points.
Haney's layup at the buzzer tied it 87-all to force overtime. Sharp's two free throws capped the scoring with 18 seconds left. Jones forced a turnover to end it.
Nate Lliteras led the way for the Ospreys (16-16) with 21 points. North Florida also got 19 points from Chaz Lanier and Jah Nze.
