CHICAGO -- — Isaiah Rivera's 24 points helped UIC defeat Valparaiso 70-64 on Saturday night.
Rivera also had five rebounds for the Flames (8-7, 1/3 Missouri Valley Conference). Filip scored 13 points and added six rebounds. Marquise Kennedy had eight points and finished 4 of 4 from the floor.
Isaiah Stafford finished with 19 points for the Beacons (4-11, 0-4). Darius DeAveiro added 11 points and four assists for Valparaiso. Jaxon Edwards also had 10 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. The loss is the ninth straight for the Beacons.
