Dubar scores 27 in Hofstra's 86-77 win against Hampton
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- — Darlinstone Dubar scored 27 points as Hofstra beat Hampton 86-77 on Thursday night.
Dubar added 10 rebounds for the Pride (9-9, 2/3 Coastal Athletic Association). Tyler Thomas scored 14 points while going 5 of 14 from the floor, including 0 for 7 from 3-point range, and 4 for 4 from the foul line, and added eight rebounds. Jaquan Carlos was 3-of-4 shooting and 5 of 5 from the free-throw line to finish with 13 points.
Tre Thomas finished with 17 points for the Pirates (4-14, 0-6). Hampton also got 16 points from Ja'Von Benson. In addition, Tedrick Wilcox Jr. had 15 points. The loss is the ninth straight for the Pirates.
Dubar scored 13 points in the first half and Hofstra went into the break trailing 42-27. After trailing by 17 points in the second half, Hofstra went on a 17-0 run to tie the game at 44-44 with 14:56 left in the half before finishing off the victory. Dubar scored 14 second-half points.
