HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- — Austin Crowley scored 19 points as Southern Miss beat William Carey 64-42 on Monday night in a season opener.
Crowley added 10 rebounds for the Golden Eagles. Donovan Ivory scored 13 points and added nine rebounds. Victor Hart shot 4 for 9 (0 for 3 from 3-point range) and 4 of 7 from the free throw line to finish with 12 points.
The Crusaders were led in scoring by Dylan Brumfield, who finished with nine points, six rebounds and three steals. William Carey also got eight points and three steals from Earl Smith. In addition, Ankerion Gross finished with six points and six rebounds.
