LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- — Mervin James' 30 points led Rider past Quinnipiac 88-78 on Sunday.
James shot 10 of 18 from the field and 9 for 9 from the line for the Broncs (12-16, 9-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Tariq Ingraham added 17 points while shooting 7 of 11 from the field and 3 for 5 from the line, and he also had five rebounds. Allen Powell shot 5 for 10, including 2 for 5 from beyond the arc to finish with 13 points.
The Bobcats (19-8, 11-5) were led in scoring by Amarri Tice, who finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Alexis Reyes added 17 points for Quinnipiac. Rihards Vavers also had 12 points.
