EMMITSBURG, Md. -- — Deshayne Montgomery scored 25 points as Mount St. Mary's beat Iona 72-65 on Sunday.
Montgomery also contributed five assists for the Mountaineers (12-16, 8-9 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Terrell Ard Jr. scored 13 points and added 11 rebounds and five assists. Josh Reaves was 4 of 12 shooting, including 1 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 4 from the line to finish with 12 points, while adding seven rebounds.
The Gaels (13-14, 8-8) were led in scoring by Idan Tretout, who finished with 21 points and four assists. Joel Brown added 14 points, five assists and three steals for Iona. Jeremiah Quigley also had 12 points.
