HOUSTON -- — Travis Evee scored 29 points as Rice beat UT Martin 98-78 on Thursday night.
Evee also had five rebounds for the Owls (2-5). Mekhi Mason scored 17 points and added six rebounds. Alem Huseinovic shot 5 for 9, including 0 for 4 from beyond the arc to finish with 11 points. The win broke a five-game losing streak for the Owls.
Jacob Crews led the Skyhawks (5-3) in scoring, finishing with 22 points and seven rebounds. Justus Jackson added 13 points for UT Martin. In addition, Issa Muhammad had 11 points and nine rebounds.
