Yale defeats Stony Brook 79-71

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- — Nick Townsend had 22 points in Yale's 79-71 victory over Stony Brook on Wednesday night.

Townsend added 15 rebounds for the Bulldogs (5-3). Bez Mbeng scored 18 points while going 6 of 11 from the floor, including 4 for 7 from 3-point range, and 2 for 3 from the line. Danny Wolf had 11 points and was 4 of 14 shooting and 2 of 3 from the free throw line.

Dean Noll finished with 16 points for the Seawolves (2-4). Tyler Stephenson-Moore added 16 points for Stony Brook. In addition, Keenan Fitzmorris had 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.

NEXT UP

Both teams next play Saturday. Yale visits Vermont and Stony Brook plays Wagner at home.
