RICHMOND, Va. -- — Jamarii Thomas and Allen Betrand scored 17 points apiece to lead Norfolk State to a 63-60 victory over VCU on Friday night.
Thomas also had five assists and three steals for the Spartans (6-3). Betrand was 5 of 12 shooting from the floor and went 7 for 8 from the line. Christian Ings shot 5 of 7 from the field and 2 for 3 from the line to finish with 12 points.
Zeb Jackson led the way for the Rams (4-4) with 15 points. Max Shulga added 14 points for VCU. Jason Nelson also put up 11 points.
