UTEP earns 87-82 win against Florida International
MIAMI -- — Shamar Givance scored 22 points to help UTEP defeat Florida International 87-82 on Thursday night.
Givance had eight rebounds, 10 assists, and four steals for the Miners (13-15, 6-11 Conference USA). Ze'Rik Onyema scored 19 points and added six rebounds. Otis Frazier III shot 5 for 9 (2 for 3 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with 15 points.
The Panthers (13-15, 7-10) were led by Jayden Brewer, who recorded 22 points and two blocks. Dashon Gittens added 17 points and five steals for Florida International. In addition, Arturo Dean finished with 12 points, six assists and three steals.
