Polite scores career-high 25 as Florida State rolls 97-60
TALLAHASSE, Fla. -- — Anthony Polite scored a career-high 25 points to lead Florida State to a 97-60 victory over Lipscomb on Wednesday night and end a three-game losing streak.
Polite, in his fifth year at Florida State (5-5), shot 10 of 14, had five assists and made four of the Seminoles' 10 steals. Nine of those steals came in the first half when FSU took the lead on a Polite 3-pointer and finished the final 12 minutes on a 30-12 run to go up by 16.
Wyatt Wilkes added 13 points, Malik Osborne and Cam'Ron Fletcher 12 each and John Butler 11. FSU shot 53%, including a season-high 14 3-pointers with eight Seminoles hitting from the arc. The Seminoles outscored the Bisons 23-0 off turnovers.
Polite hit a 3-pointer to open the second half and start a 24-5 run in which FSU made nine straight shots, including six 3-pointers, for a 35-point lead. The Seminoles led by as many as 44.
Jacob Ognacevic scored 20 points with nine rebounds to lead the Bisons (5-7). He was 7-of-9 shooting, including 5 of 6 from the arc. Kaleb Coleman added 10 points. The Bisons shot 38% in losing their fifth straight.
