Wilson leads balanced attack as Lehigh beats Lafayette 62-59
EASTON, Pa. -- Jeameril Wilson had 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead five Lehigh players in double figures as the Mountain Hawks snapped their seven-game losing streak, edging Lafayette 62-59 on Saturday.
Reed Fenton, Nic Lynch, Marques Wilson and Jordan Cohen added 12 points apiece for the Mountain Hawks (6-18, 3-9 Patriot League).
Lynch hit a jumper to give Lehigh the lead for good, 56-55 with 2:56 remaining. Lafayette went the next two-plus minutes without a point, falling behind 61-55 before Tyrone Perry's jumper drew the Leopards within 61-57. Evan Taylor hit one of two free throws for Lehigh and a jumper from Lafayette's Kyle Stout closed the scoring.
E.J. Stephens had 14 points for the Leopards (15-8, 7-5), whose four-game win streak was broken. Leo O'Boyle and Lukas Jarrett added 11 points apiece. Justin Jaworski, the Leopards' leading scorer coming in, had nine points, seven rebounds and six assists.
The Mountain Hawks evened the season series with the win. Lafayette defeated Lehigh 74-56 on Jan. 25.
Lehigh plays at home against Holy Cross on Wednesday. Lafayette plays at Army on Wednesday.
