Trio combines for 45, Fairleigh Dickinson tops NYIT 84-57
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Xzavier Malone, Darnell Edge and Jahlil Jenkins each scored 15 points, Mike Holloway added 14 and Fairleigh Dickinson cruised past the New York Institute of Technology 84-57 Friday night.
Edge made 5 of 8 shots, including a pair from 3-point distance, Malone added three 3-pointers and Jenkins was 7 of 16 from the floor.
Holloway also had nine rebounds and Elyjah Williams 10 as the Knights (2-1) pulled down 44 boards to NYIT's 29 and outscored the Bears 38-20 in the paint. Fairleigh Dickinson also had 11 steals and scored 25 points off 23 NYIT turnovers.
Kieran Hamilton led the Division III Bears with 14 points and Zahir Porter 12. NYIT was without leading scorer Jeffrey Hayden, who was out with a knee injury.
