Frye scores 20 as Bowling Green beats D-II Tiffin 91-52
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Dylan Frye scored 20 points, including four 3-pointers, and Demajeo Wiggins added a double-double as Bowling Green defeated Division II Tiffin 91-52 in a season opener Tuesday night.
Frye was 8 of 12 shooting, 4 of 7 from distance as Bowling Green shot 48 percent (34-for-71) and outrebounded Tiffin 62-29. Wiggins and Jeffrey Uju each pulled down 10 boards, Tayler Mattos had nine and Michael Laster eight. Justin Turner scored 16 points for the Falcons, who had a 21-5 advantage in second-chance points and 50-28 on points in the paint thanks to the rebounding disparity.
Joshua Williams led Tiffin with 16 points, but was 6-for-22 shooting, 0-for-6 from 3-point range. Tiffin was 20-for-67, 30 percent, from the floor.
Neither team shot well from distance, making just 12 3-pointers between them in 49 tries.
