Hampton beats Mid-Atlantic Christian 117-54
HAMPTON, Va. -- Trey Carver and Austin Colbert scored 17 points apiece, Charles Wilson-Fisher had a double-double, and Hampton beat Mid-Atlantic Christian 117-54 on Wednesday night.
Akim Mitchell scored 15 points, Greg Heckstall and Lysander Bracey added 14 apiece, and Wilson-Fisher scored 10 points with 15 rebounds and four blocks for the Pirates (4-5), who never trailed and led 61-24 at halftime. Jermaine Marrow had 11 of the Pirates' 28 assists.
Mitchell scored six straight points for a 75-32 lead early in the second half and Trey Carver's free throw amid a 17-2 run made it 100-43.
The Pirates outrebounded the Mustangs 59-25 and shot 57.9 percent from the floor (44 of 76) while holding them to 28.1 percent.
Jaelin Thomas scored 11 points and Grayson Tejeda added 10 for the Mustangs, members of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.
