UNC Asheville beats Charleston Southern 85-80 in OT
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- MaCio Teague and Ahmad Thomas combined to shoot 9 of 15 from 3-point range and scored 47 points to help UNC Asheville beat Charleston Southern 85-80 on Sunday night.
Teague finished with 24 points and Thomas made 7 of 12 from the field, including all three of his 3-point shots, and 6-of-8 free throws. Kevin Vannatta had 12 points and Raekwon Miller scored 11 for UNC Asheville (19-10, 12-4 Big South). The Bulldogs remain tied with Winthrop atop the conference standings with two regular-season games left. The Eagles play at UNC Asheville on Thursday. Winthrop beat the Bulldogs 85-58 on Jan. 18.
Charleston Southern (12-15, 7-9) committed four of its eight turnovers, and was outscored 11-6 in overtime.
Christian Keeling led the Buccaneers with 27 points and nine rebounds.
UNC Asheville made half of its 56 field-goal attempts, including 12 of 20 from 3-point range. Charleston Southern made 5-of-22 3s.
