Dulin hits 3 at buzzer, Navy holds off Lafayette 75-72
EASTON, Pa. -- Bryce Dulin scored 20 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer, and Navy held off Lafayette's late rally for a 75-72 victory on Wednesday night.
Paulius Zalys converted a 3-point play and Matt Klinewski added five points during a 10-2 surge that pulled Lafayette to 71-69 with 16 seconds left. Shawn Anderson split a pair of free throws to make it 72-69, but Alex Petrie answered with a 3 for the Leopards to tie it with five seconds left before Dulin hit the game-winner.
Navy (13-7, 4-3 Patriot League) rebounded from a 64-62 loss to rival Army on Sunday to give coach Ed DeChellis his 300th career win in his 22nd season with the Midshipmen.
Anderson, a senior guard who received nine stiches to his nose during the Army game, chipped in 13 points. Tom Lacey made 9 of 14 free throws and finished with 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds for Navy.
Zalys scored 25 points on 11-of-14 shooting to lead Lafayette (4-14, 2-5).
