Quinnipiac Bobcats @ Siena Saints
Bundu's block saves Quinnipiac's 71-70 win over Siena
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Abdulai Bundu blocked Ahsante Shivers' shot at the rim to preserve Quinnipiac's 71-70 victory over Siena on Monday.
Bundu's save of an air-balled 3-point attempt as he was flying out of bounds resulted in Cameron Young's trey that gave the Bobcats (5-9, 2-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) a 71-68 lead with 1:37 remaining.
Roman Penn made a steal that ended up as a Nico Clareth dunk with 1:10 left that got the Saints within 71-70 with another turnover giving Siena the ball back with 26.7 left. A Bobcats foul to give and a jump ball with possession staying with Siena cut the clock down to 5.7 left before Shivers drove to the rim and was rejected by Bundu.
Young made 15 of 16 free throws and scored 26 points with nine rebounds.
Evan Fisher scored 21 points and Roman Penn 19 for the Saints (4-11, 0-2).
