Quinn, Seaborn lead Monmouth over Lehigh 80-72
BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Diago Quinn scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds and Micah Seaborn hit three 3-pointers and scored 15 with seven boards to lead Monmouth over Lehigh 80-72 on Tuesday night.
Lehigh led from the start until Louie Pillari hit a 3-pointer with 5:38 left in the first half to give the Hawks (1-1) a 20-19 lead. The Mountain Hawks (1-1) pulled even at 23 on a Kahron Ross layup, but Deion Hammond nailed a 3-pointer 44 seconds later and Monmouth never trailed again.
Ray Salnave came off the bench to score 10 for the Hawks, who dominated the boards by a 53-24 margin and shot 52 percent from the field (29 of 56). However, they had 27 turnovers to just nine for Lehigh.
Reserve Jordan Cohen topped the Mountain Hawks with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting but the team shot 39 percent overall (26 of 67).
Lehigh leads the all-time series 5-3.
