Braxton scores 27, Saint Francis clinches home game in NEC
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Keith Braxton scored 27 points, pulled down seven rebounds, dished six assists and made two steals as Saint Francis University defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 90-82 Thursday night to claim a home game in the upcoming Northeast Conference Tournament playoffs.
Andre Wolford added 21 points and Jamaal King 19 for the Red Flash (17-11, 11-6), who secured a top-four seed with the tough road win and the home playoff game that comes along with it.
A Wolford 3-pointer pulled Saint Francis into a 43-43 tie and sparked a 7-0 run over the last two minutes of the first half. Braxton opened the second half with a jumper and King hit a 3-pointer and Saint Francis led throughout the final 20 minutes.
Darnell Edge scored 21 points, Jahlil Jenkins matched a career high with 20 and Noah Morgan added 19 to pace Fairleigh Dickinson (11-17, 8-9), which had won four of five games since falling to Saint Francis at the beginning of February.
