New Orleans rolls to 62-53 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Travin Thibodeaux had 16 points and Bryson Robinson added 15 as New Orleans rolled to a 62-53 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday night.
Dionta Champion added eight points as 11 Privateers put points on the board.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi took an early lead before Champion drained a 3-pointer to go ahead 15-13 at the 8:35 mark. The Privateers took the lead for good after Robinson nailed a trey for a 23-19 advantage and rolled into the break, leading 29-22.
The Islanders mounted a late threat, closing to 45-41 with 7:13 left following four straight Joseph Kilgore free throws. New Orleans (13-11, 10-3 Southland Conference) answered with an 11-0 run to cruise to its fifth win in the last six games.
Kilgore had 22 points and four assists to lead Texas A&M-CC (8-14, 5-7).
