Andino caps late rally, Eastern Shore edges Morgan St. 67-66
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Ryan Andino knocked down a 3-pointer with 18 seconds left to cap a late rally and Maryland-Eastern Shore edged Morgan State 67-66 in the regular-season finale for both teams on Thursday night.
Andino finished with 13 points, with a trio of 3-pointers, and four rebounds. His offensive board with the Hawks trailing 64-59 and 1:47 to play sparked a timeout and then an 8-0 run as a Bakari Copeland 3-pointer and an Isaac Taylor dunk evened the game at 64. After Andino's 3 gave Eastern Shore (12-19, 9-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) the 67-64 lead, Morgan State went for a Martez Cameron layup with 3.3 seconds left but didn't get the foul.
The Bears (14-15, 11-5) then fouled Andino with 1.9 seconds on the clock. He missed but Morgan State didn't have time for a final shot.
Tiwian Kendley led the Bears with 20 points, Martez added 12 and Phillip Carr 10.
