Cook has 30, Bell's basket lifts Princeton over Harvard

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Steven Cook matched his career high with 30 points and Amir Bell scored the winning basket with 1.1 seconds left and Princeton won its 16th straight game 73-69 over Harvard on Friday.

After an offensive foul on the Crimson, the Tigers got the ball with 48.6 seconds left. Spencer Weisz missed a 3-pointer with 30 seconds to go but Myles Stephens grabbed the offensive rebound and kicked the ball out to Bell.

Bell dribbled the clock down and then drove the left side of the lane, floating a left-handed layup over 6-foot-9 Chris Lewis and off the backboard. After a 5-second call on the Harvard inbounds, Stephens added two free throws with less than a second remaining.

Princeton (20-6, 13-0) wrapped up the top seed and home-court advantage for the inaugural Ivy League Tournament next weekend. Harvard (18-8, 10-3), which had won six straight since a 59-57 loss to the Tigers, has the second seed wrapped up and it will be a home game.

Stephens added 18 points and Devin Canady 13 for Princeton.

Seth Towns had a career-high 26 for Harvard, which trailed by nine at the half but hit three quick 3s to tie it.
