Toronto v Colorado
Toronto FC holds Colorado Rapids, books CCL quarterfinal with Tigres
Toronto FC's scoreless draw with the Colorado Rapids on Tuesday night has earned the reigning MLS champions a place in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals.
Greg Vanney's side struggled to break the deadlock at BMO Field, but a 2-0 lead from last week's first leg meant that Sebastian Giovinco and Co. never really needed to get out of first gear.
In Tuesday's other matches, Liga MX side Tigres defeated Herediano 3-1 at the Estadio Universitario to win their tie 5-3 on aggregate.
Former West Ham striker Enner Valencia scored a brace for the hosts, while Ismael Sosa made sure of the result with a 90th-minute strike.
A late Walter Martinez goal was not enough to see CD Motagua, who drew 1-1 away at Tijuana, progress -- losing 2-1 on aggregate.
Tuesday's results mean that Mexico's defending Apertura 2017 champions, Tigres, will meet the reigning MLS champions, Toronto FC, in the next round.
