Albion's hopes of reaching the Scottish League One play-offs came to an end despite a 3-1 win at Stenhousemuir, who avoided a relegation decider.
Rovers registered the victory they needed but with Stranraer and Airdrieonians beating Cowdenbeath and Ayr respectively, their top-four prospects were dashed.
The visitors took the lead four minutes into the second half when Scott McBride bundled in from close range for his second goal in as many games.
They doubled their advantage in the 68th minute, Alistair Love firing home from inside the area - his 13th goal of the season.
McBride grabbed his second of the game with 16 minutes remaining after being teed up by Gary Fisher.
Stenny pulled a goal back two minutes from time, with Jamie McCormack heading in Jon Robertson's delivery, but they preserved their League One status after Cowdenbeath's loss.
