Gary Oliver double sets up rare away win for Queen of the South
Queen of the South won away for the first time since August as two Gary Oliver goals earned a 2-1 victory at Alloa.Alloa, bottom of the table, made the perfect start when Graeme Holmes fired them ahead with a shot from the edge of the area after just 31 seconds. Robbie Crawford should have extended the lead but fluffed his shot.Like at the start of the game, there was also an early goal in the second half and it was an equaliser. Oliver converted a Derek Lyle cross at the second attempt after Andy McNeil had saved his initial effort just 10 seconds after the restart.Alloa almost retook the lead straight away but Jason Marr's shot struck a post.Oliver netted the winning goal after 55 minutes when he volleyed home another Lyle cross at the far post.McNeil kept the score down with saves to deny Lyle and Iain Russell.
