Stirling v Stranraer
Stranraer back on top
Stranraer returned to winning ways and went top of the Scottish League One table after victory at bottom club Stirling.William Gibson scored the only goal of the game for Stephen Aitken's side, who arrived at Forthbank following back-to-back 1-0 defeats.Stranraer always looked likely to score and Sean Winter headed a good chance wide before home goalkeeper Callum Reidford made a good save to deny Gibson. At the other end, Lewis Coult had a rare opportunity for Stirling but David Mitchell kept the ball out.The winning goal arrived after 68 minutes when Gibson's 25-yard free-kick evaded everyone inside the box and crept inside the right-hand post.Substitute Steven Bell almost doubled the lead but his shot went just wide. It did not matter though as one goal was enough to see Stranraer leapfrog Forfar and Morton to lead the table by a point.
