Man City v PSG
Man City surrender late lead to PSG, remain winless in UWCL
Manchester City's winless start to the Women's Champions League continued after they conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain.
City had appeared to be heading for all three points after in-form Khadija Shaw brushed off numerous missed chances to win and convert a penalty in the 85th minute.
But Griedge Mbock Bathy, who had conceded the spot-kick, soon launched a long ball forward and Tara Elimbi sprinted clear of a sleeping City defence to net an equaliser.
City's collapse comes days after they surrendered a 1-0 lead to draw with Manchester United as their 100 percent start to the Women's Super League season came to an end.
And it leaves them without a win in three league phase games after draws with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Shaw, who had scored in her last five appearances for club and country, came into the game days after finishing third in the Ballon d'Or at a ceremony in London but endured a frustrating first 85 minutes.
The Jamaica striker somehow missed the target with a third-minute header from an Aoba Fujino cross before she was found on the edge of the box by the busy Lauren Hemp eight minutes later but steered her effort wide.
PSG rarely threatened, though Léa-Laëtitia Morissaint fired wide before the break and Sakina Karchaoui curled over from a free kick.
Shaw was denied by a brilliant save from PSG goalkeeper Oliwia Szperkowska in the 66th minute before missing the target with two more good chances as the game remained goalless.
But that ended with five minutes left when Shaw drew a rash foul by Mbock before scoring the resulting penalty to seemingly give City victory.
However, Gilbert had other ideas as City's lead lasted just three minutes and their wait for a European win went on.
