Atlético Madrid breezed to a 4-0 home win over Osasuna on Wednesday to move into third place in LaLiga.

Jonathan David, Lee Kang-In, Robin Le Normand and Álex Baena were on target in a one-sided contest at the Metropolitano.

It was just the sort of stress-free work out Atlético would have wanted ahead of Saturday's derby against Real Madrid.

Osasuna had conceded seven goals in their previous two games, and Atlético ruthlessly exploited the visitors' vulnerability.

Ademola Lookman headed over at the far post and Lee, who was lively throughout, went close before Osasuna broke out for Raul García to force a fine save from Jan Oblak.

Atlético seized the lead after 24 minutes through excellent approach play that was typical of their early work.

Alejandro Grimaldo exchanged passes with Johnny Cardoso and squared for David, who scored at the second attempt following Aitor Fernandez's initial block.

Osasuna were denied an equaliser five minutes later when Iñigo Arguibide lashed home, Lucas Torró penalised for clashing heads with Le Normand in the buildup.

Fernandez made a brilliant double save from Lee and David, but Atlético doubled their lead after 54 minutes.

Quick combination play between Baena and Lookman stretched Osasuna, and David set up Lee for an emphatic finish.

Cristian Romero saw his long-range effort tipped over, and it was his centre-back partner Le Normand who profited from the resulting corner.

Baena completed the scoring eight minutes from time by sweeping home Cardoso's measured pass.
