Dnipro cruise into knockout stages

Dnipro eased through to the knockout stages of the Europa League as winners of Group F after claiming a comfortable 4-0 victory over AIK Solna at the Dnipro Arena.
Juan de la Cruz Ramos Cano's outfit never looked in danger of losing to AIK, who had previously picked up just four points and had no hope of progressing.
Nikola Kalinic put the home side ahead from the spot after 19 minutes and Roman Zozulya added a second just before half-time.
The striker grabbed his second after the restart, before Serhiy Kravchenkoas completed the scoring as AIK exited the competition bottom of the group.
Only a defeat and a Napoli victory could prevent Dnipro from topping the group, but that scenario never looked likely after they took the lead after 20 minutes.
They were given a helping hand by their Swedish opposition, as Yevgen Konoplianka's corner was punched in the area by full-back Martin Lorentzson.
Striker Kalinic did the rest from the spot as his effort straight down the middle beat Ivan Turina for his second goal in the competition.
The hosts were two goals up seven minutes before the break when Zozulya got on the end of a Konoplianka cross, placing his effort into the bottom right-hand corner.
The game was over just six minutes into the second half before Zozulya grabbed his second, again beating Turina with a low effort.
And Kravchenko finished the scoring with a controlled volley from inside the area as AIK endured a miserable night in Ukraine.

                                      Last-gasp Cavani sends Napoli through

The latest of late penalty kicks from Edinson Cavani sent Napoli through to the knockout stages of the Europa League with a 2-1 win at the expense of AIK Solna.
The Partenopei travelled to the Rasunda Stadium knowing that victory - coupled with defeat for PSV Eindhoven against Dnipro - would see them claim a place among the last 32.
And that is exactly what happened, with Dnipro also winning 2-1 in Holland.
Blerim Dzemaili set Napoli on their way in the 19th minute but Helgi Danielsson headed home the equaliser 16 minutes later.
A fractious second half saw Salvatore Aronica dismissed for a professional foul five minutes from time but Cavani stepped up to clinch qualification from the penalty spot three minutes into stoppage time.
The Swedish club's scouts will have filed extensive reports on Cavani after the Uruguayan hit four goals past Dnipro last time out, but he turned provider for the first goal of the evening.
Napoli pressed the ball hard from a throw-in deep inside AIK's half, Cavani seizing control and finding Dzemaili from the left wing.
The Swiss midfielder volleyed home and Napoli looked good for a place in the last 32.
AIK reacted well, though, and Napoli would soon surrender their narrow advantage.
With 35 minutes played, Viktor Lundberg produced the killer ball that Danielsson met for the equalising header.
It took a near miss from Bangura to liven things up after the break.
Lundberg gave Antonio Rosati a rare feel of the ball with a drilled shot from distance on the hour mark but chances were at a premium.
The deadlock did not suit Cavani and he took it upon himself to open the game up in the final 20 minutes.
Ivan Turina was lucky to get to the Uruguayan's fierce stab from six yards before Dzemaili smashed the ball against the Solna stopper, who parried expertly.
Bangura, the Swedes' bright spark throughout, wriggled clear to shave the crossbar with a speculative drive.
At this point Dnipro had taken the lead in Eindhoven but Cavani's weak effort six minutes from time was not enough to take the Italians through.
Aronica then made qualification an even taller order by hacking Bangura down and seeing red, and soon AIK began to pour forward in search of a last-gasp winner
But when Per Karlsson conceded a penalty deep into stoppage time with a foul on Cavani, his victim stepped up to wrap up qualification with a game to spare.

                                          Bangura strike enough for AIK

AIK claimed their first win in Europa League Group F - 1-0 at the expense of Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven.
Mohamed Bangura's first-half strike was all that separated the two sides at Rasunda, with the Swedish club joining their opponents on four points in the table.
PSV midfielder Dries Mertens had the first sight of goal after 11 minutes, driving low from 25 yards straight at goalkeeper Ivan Turina.
The home side's response was to score the opener a minute later. Celso Borges played a neat touch to Bangura, who powered a shot into the top left corner from 20 yards.
AIK came close to adding an immediate second with Martin Lorentzson getting his head to a corner from Borges, but goalkeeper Boy Waterman managed to get to the ball.
PSV attempted to dig themselves out of the hole they were in, but Turina was equal to a header from Georginio Wijnaldum while Timothy Derijck was wasteful with another header which he directed past the left post from close range.
Borges was causing problems for the visiting defence, though, and his free-kick on the half-hour mark resulted in a header for Nils-Eric Johansson which fell narrowly wide.
PSV may have had the better record in the group but AIK were having the better chances, and came frustratingly close to a second goal after 64 minutes with Helgi Danielsson's right-footed shot striking the crossbar.
The best the visitors could offer in return were long-range chances from Mertens and Stanislav Manolev, which both fell wide, while Tim Matavz was also off target with his header from inside the area.
With full-time approaching, Jetro Willems made one last desperate attempt to snatch a draw but the sight of his 30-yard drive sailing over the bar summed up the evening for PSV.

                                              Lens salvages draw for PSV

Jeremain Lens' 80th-minute equaliser earned PSV Eindhoven a 1-1 Europa League draw at home to AIK.
The Eredivisie outfit looked to be heading to a surprise home defeat as they trailed to a Kwame Karikari effort after 60 minutes and struggled to create any clear-cut chances to level.
But Lens spared their blushes with a sharp finish and even sent them up to second in the Group F table.
The victory moved PSV a point ahead of Napoli, who were beaten away to runaway leaders Dnipro.
The Swedish side came flying out of the blocks and were within a whisker of taking the lead after only four minutes.
Celso Borges' outswinging corner from the right fell to Nils-Eric Johansson six yards out, but his shot came back off a post.
At the other end Dries Mertens fired over and Kevin Strootman sent an effort wide following a Mertens corner.
Another Mertens corner then picked out Timothy Derijck, whose header dropped wide of the right post.
But the visitors went ahead on the hour mark as Karikari finished into the bottom left corner from inside the area.
The Dutch side levelled 10 minutes from time.
The influential Mertens was predictably at the heart of it, laying a pass inside from the right for Lens to fire high into the net.
Strootman and Derijck headed over as PSV sought an unlikely victory, but they had to settle for a point.
